Goreti Marreiros has Habilitation (2020) and PhD in Artificial Intelligence - AI (2008) both from University of Minho, MSc in Information Management (2002) and BSc in Computer Science (1995) both from University of Porto. She is Coordinator Professor with Habilitation in Institute of Engineering ¿ Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP/IPP) and Director of GECAD (Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation and Development, UIDP/00760/2020 and UIDB/00760/2020), a R&D unit ranked as Excellent by the Portuguese Science&Technology Foudation (FCT). She is also member of LASI (Associated Laboratory of Intelligent Systems LA/P/0104/2020), the Portuguese AI Associated Lab recognized by FCT. She is the President of the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA), member of the General Assembly of the EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION FOR AI (EurAI), IEEE Senior Member and member of the Direction (treasury) of the IEEE in Computational Intelligence Society ¿ Portuguese chapter. She is Vice-Director of the MSc in AI Engineering, and of the new AI PhD Programme; Director of the post-graduation in Big Data & Decision Making, and Member of Scientific Council of ISEP. In the last years she has been responsible for several courses on Planning and Decision Support, Social &Ethical aspects of AI, Applied AI, and responsible for the courses for Preparation and Development of MSc Dissertations. Her R&D is centered in AI. She has around 240 scientific publications (65 in scientific journals; >2200 citations, h-index 23), participated in 66 international (e.g. Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, FP7, ESPRIT, ITEA, CELTIC) and national (FCT, QREN, P2020) R&D projects, being PrincipaI investigator (PI) or Co-PI in 31 of them. Within the scope of the projects she coordinates or in which she participated, she had a strong connection with international and national companies (more than 100 companies), with technology transfer centers (10 centers). She has partnerships with entities from more than 30 countries. In her research and projects AI is successfully applied to different domains: Tourism (in projects GIGADESSEA, EKRUCAmI, TheRoute, GROUPLANNER, Smartravel, ATT); Industry 4.0 (in projects MANTIS, InVALUE, INVALUE_PT, NIS, PIANISM, Cyberfactory, SECOIIA, produtech_R3); Health Care and Wellbeing (in projects like PHE, AIRDOC, Inno4health, Foodfriend, Secur-e-health, Daisy, Rm4health); Power and Energy Systems (in projects like DREAM-GO, FUSE-IT, M2MGrids, GREEDI, SIMOCE, CENERGETIC); Security (in project SASSI, SAFECARE, SATIE); and Transports (Ferrovia 4.0). Along the years she was event and program chair of 24 international conferences/workshops. She has supervised several PhD and MSc students: 3 Post-Doc; 4 PhD concluded (2 international and 2 national); 7 ongoing PhD thesis supervisions (3 international and 4 national) and 56 concluded MSc thesis. She is advisor of the AIR-Institute in Spain, member of the Working Group on Data Science & Artificial Intelligence of the CARPE Network and acted as a national and international expert for evaluating research projects and PhD scholarships. She participated in 21 Doctoral Academic Exam Juries, in 11 Doctoral pre-thesis juries and act as an external examiner for 6 Doctoral Thesis. Participated in 6 juries for the teaching career, 20 juries for hiring researchers, 7 for assistant researchers and 13 for junior researchers. She is Ambassador for New AI Talents for Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Along the years she reviewed papers for more than 35 different journals and was member of more than 200 international conferences scientific program committees, in IJCAI and ECAI she is Senior PC member and/or area chair. She has received 13 awards and/or honors. In their professional activities published with more than 200 co-authors from different countries (e.g. Spain, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Belgium, Philippines, Poland, Italy and South Korea).
