Saad Mujahid Khan is a doctoral researcher at CISUC, Department of Informatics Engineering, University of Coimbra, Portugal. His research focuses on securing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems using Lightweight Cryptographic Algorithms (LWC) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), aligned with ongoing standardization efforts such as NISTIR 8114, NIST SP 800-208, NIST SP 800-185, FIPS 203, FIPS 204, and FIPS 205. He has extensive experience in threat assessment, including Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), quantum cryptographic risks, and cybersecurity for embedded systems. He also serves as a cybersecurity consultant, focusing on embedded system security in compliance with standards such as IEC 62443 and relevant NIST guidelines. Previously, he was a Junior Lecturer and Research Associate at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, teaching core Computer Engineering courses and supervising industrial projects. He is proficient in C, C++, and Python, with multiple international certifications via Coursera. He represents students in the CISUC Plenary Assembly (2024–25) and has held administrative roles, including Deputy Director of student affairs. His academic focus is to investigate and advance secure, efficient, and standards-compliant cryptographic solutions, aiming to contribute as a researcher in the evolving field of cybersecurity for industrial and embedded systems.
