Tancredo Souza obtained his PhD in Soil Sci from the Federal University of Paraíba, in collaboration with the University Coimbra, portugal, in 2013, and carried out postdoctoral studies at Federal University of Paraiba, Brasil, from 2017 to 2019 (Soil ecology in Tropical Ecosystem), Federal University of Acre, from 2021 to 2022 (Impacts of Deforestation on Soil Food Web), and Federal University of Paraiba (Digital mapping of biological invasion in tropical ecosystems). He was Visiting Professor of Biodiversity and Ecology at the Department of Agriculture, Biodiversity and Forests of the Federal University of Santa Catarina from 2019 to 2021. Currently, he is the Coordinator of the Soil Biology Research Group (GEBIOS). His scientific areas of expertise are related to: Soil Ecology; Tropical and Subtropical Ecosystems; Forest and Agriculture; Ecology and Management of exotic and invasive plant species; Biodiversity of soil organisms; Physiology of the tree; Diversity of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi; Bioremediation and Bioenergy; Microbial ecology; Soil organic acids. He coordinated or participated in several national and international projects and consortia, including the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. Supervised or co-supervised 2 master dissertations. He is the author of more than 37 indexed international scientific publications and 11 scientific books promoting and disseminating science.
