Irena Djordjevic Susic is PhD candidate in the Political science department at the University of Aveiro, focusing her interests on think tank organisations, their role and influence they exercise within different contexts. She is an effective member of GOVCOPP - Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies, within the research group for Public Policies, Institutions and Innovation. Irena holds a multidisciplinary master¿s degree in Terrorism, Organized Crime Security, and bachelors¿ degree in Journalism, from the University of Belgrade. She works as the Head of Digitalisation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship unit in the leading public-private association and hybrid think tank organisation from Serbia - NALED. In her 8-years¿ work experience she has already contributed to the introduction of new policy solutions in Serbia such as new tax regime for freelancers, tax exemption for start-ups, simplified work engagement for seasonal workers. Through media appearances and public advocacy, as well as via direct engagement with decision makers and the private sector, she is advocating for evidence-based regulatory and policy solutions in the fields of labour market, taxation, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Irena collaborates with different bilateral and international donors working in the Western Balkans region, and she is KAS and OSCE alumna. She is a former scholar of the Young Talents Fund ¿ Dositeja, then of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, of the Education Secretariat of the City of Belgrade and of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. She speaks English and Italian.
