Mireia Tintoré holds a Doctorate in Humanities and Social Sciences from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) which she received with Excellent Distinction. She also holds a Master in Family Education from the European Institute of Educational Sciences (EIES), a Post Grade in Women's Leadership from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain), and a bachelor's degree in Geography and History (specialty Contemporary History) from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Her doctoral thesis was related to organizational learning in universities. She has worked as a professional educator in schools for more than 25 years serving as a teacher and assistant principal in a school, and advisor to numerous national and international schools in Spain, and in other European and Latin-American countries. She currently works in the faculty of Education at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), as an educator, and researcher. Now she is the Chair of Organizational Studies and Professionalization Research Group at the Faculty of Education. She is the Editor of the International Journal of Educational Leadership and Management (IJELM). And she is the Director of the Post-Graduate Course in Educational Leadership and Management (PLD). Previously, she served as Vice-Dean (2008-2013) and Chair of the Educational Management and Leadership Specialty. She was also a teacher in the Master of Research in Social Sciences of the UIC. Mireia has been a Guest Lecturer at Université des Lagunes (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) where she trained university teachers in new and active educational methodologies. She also has lectured on educational leadership at the Catholic University of Portugal, in Oporto; and at the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares. Member of the EDO research group coordinates the EDO-UIC subgroup. The EDO group was recognized as a consolidated research group in 2005. The recognition was renewed in 2009 (SGR 2009-397), 2014 (SGR 2014-176), and 2018 (SGR 2017-00318). Its central theme is research on the nature and development of organizations dedicated to training. As a member of the EDO-UIC subgroup, she has collaborated in the organization of the CIEDO International Congress in the editions of 2016, 2018 and 2020 as a member of the Scientific Committee. She was the academic chair of the 17th Annual Global Conference (Leading across borders and generations) of the International Leadership Association that took place in Barcelona in 2015. Her current research interest includes Leadership, School Management, Organizational Learning in schools and universities, Initial teacher education, Successful Actions in Universities and the Development of Emotional and Entrepreneurial Skills. A number of her writings have been: "Political leadership under the classic thinkers: lessons for education" (2012), "Identifying the stage of growth in the organizational learning capacity of universities" (2013), “Comparing Leadership: Business, Politics and Education” (2016), “School leaders and the promotion of social justice, equity and inclusion. A case study” (2016). “Liderazgo y e-liderazgo en las historias de vida de líderes educativos a través del mundo” (2019), “Introducing a model of Transformational Pro-Social Leadership” (2019), or "Problems, challenges, and dreams of Portuguese principals” (2020). Mireia is the author of 2 entries (“Educational Leadership” and “Values-Based Management and Values-Based Leadership”) in The Sage encyclopedia of quality and the service economy (2015). Currently, Tintoré participates in two international research pro: Changing educational systems through a Whole Child Development programme in Portugal and Spain, founded by the Europea Foundation Society and Education. And International Teacher Leadership Study, with a team of eleven universities corresponding to all the continents.
