Pedro is currently enrolled in a Doctoral programme in Veterinary Sciences at the University of Trás-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), specialising in the clinical area of research into feline retroviruses, specifically FeLV. He has previously obtained a Master's Degree in Veterinary Sciences and is a Veterinarian by training. degree from UTAD; He was recognised by the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies and the Higher School of Animal Health, Protection and Welfare (ESPA) as a specialist in the area of Veterinary Sciences; He is an IEFP Certified Trainer.He has a postgraduate degree in Companion Animal Medicine from ULHT, in "Veterinary Diagnostic Ultrasound" from ESAVS and in "Veterinary Emergency Care" from ESAVS. Since 2008, he has been a visiting assistant professor at Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário de Lisboa, where he coordinates the curricular units of the 5th year of the Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at FM-U.Lusófona: Companion Animal Clinic I and II, Hospital and Field Activities X and XII. He is concurrently a visiting assistant professor and member of the Technical-Scientific Council of the Escola Superior de Saúde, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (ESPA) of the Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia (IPLUSO) in the Veterinary Nursing Degree. He has previously served as the Clinical Director of the FMV-U.Lusófona School Hospital (AC) for a number of years and currently acts as the "Main Cat Advocate" for International Cat Care of the International Society of Feline Medicine, of which he is a member.He has accumulated over two decades of experience as a senior consultant, working with several CAMVs outside of Greater Lisbon, and his special interests lie in the fields of Endocrinology, Geriatrics and Feline Retroviruses. He has undertaken extensive training, including courses and symposia at the European College, with a particular focus on Internal Medicine, Intensive Care and Imaging. He is frequently invited as a speaker at national and international congresses and is also requested as a trainer in the field of veterinary sciences.He is a researcher at the Animal and Veterinary Research Centre (CECAV), with numerous publications, collaborations and presentations to his credit.
