Rui Carvalho is currrently a PhD student funded by FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Técnologia). Previoulsy, he completed a Master’s degree in Information and Knowledge Systems on October 31, 2024, and a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering on September 20, 2020, both at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto – School of Engineering (ISEP). He is currently a Researcher at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, working within the Research Group in Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Innovation and Development (GECAD). During his Bachelor's studies, Rui secured an internship at GECAD, where he developed his final project. Following this, he continued at GECAD as a researcher while pursuing his Master's degree, contributing to projects that strengthened his knowledge and led to both software development and scientific publications. He has published 2 peer-reviewed journal articles, contributed 1 book chapter, had 2 conference comunications and participated as a research grant holder in 3 projects. His experience spans several areas including web development, natural language processing, machine learning, multi-agent systems, and energy communities, particularly through his role as a software engineer in projects such as MAS-Society and TradeRES. He is currently involved in the MAST project, which focuses on tools and methodologies for developing efficient and sustainable software systems. Within MAST, he has actively participated in the project's meetings and developed software tools in cooperation with industrial partners. As such, Rui works primarily in the field of Engineering and Technology Sciences, with an emphasis on Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering.
