I am medical doctor, former neurosurgery resident and a young researcher. Besides the Clinical Medicine, I have been interested in Molecular Neurosciences since my undergraduate studies – my research training started early on during high school years when I took part in the ScienceCalifragilistic project of the Champalimaud Foundation. I have some experience in molecular biology considering previous participation and training in two pilot research projects of basic science, the first took place in the Luísa Lopes Lab at iMM, aiming the study of the A2AR stoichiometry on calcium signaling in neurons and the second already as a clinical researcher in the research unit of Professor Ana Sebastião at iMM, aiming the study of GAT1 GABA transporter modulation by adenosine A1 and A2A receptors in absence seizures – with this last one I was awarded with the Research Fellowship Grant of the Portuguese League Against Epilepsy in 2023. Now, and having in attention my interest in Clinical Neurosciences and Neurology, in particular, I am currently in the 1st-year of the Neurosciences PhD Programme of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
