Dr. Janeck J. Scott-Fordsmand has been working for more than 20 years on the ecotoxicology of various chemicals and nanoparticles in terrestrial ecosystems. His emphasis has been linking effects from the molecular to the population and community level. He is also an expert in risk assessment of chemicals and nanoparticles, advisor on the international test guidelines, guidance document and risk assessment of chemicals for various national EPAs, Nordic Council, EU (TCNES, ECHA and REACH) and OECD Work Programme on Manufactured Nanomaterials, dealing with guideline development, testing strategies and Governance of nanomaterials. Co-author of the scientific part of REACH regarding terrestrial ecotoxicology. He is continuously supervising Post Doc and phD students. He is an experienced project leader and advisor of both national and international nano-related projects, for example he is the European leader of the US-EU Risk Community of Research. He has been involved in many large-scale European project dealing with nanotechnology covering many industrial areas (e.g. medicine, pesticide and chemical industries), partly as a WP leader and partly as a Co-coordinator. He is currently involved in three European large-scale European projects, one of which he co-coordinate and one he fully coordinate. The latter project emphasis on how society can Govern Nanotechnologies in a European and Global Perspective, including which structures are required for such Governance. In all of these projects both European and Global small and large scale industries have been involved, including insurance industries.
