João Bernardo Lares Moreira de Campos currently works at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Porto, Portugal. He graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1980 at the University of Porto, got a postgraduate course in fluid mechanics at the Vón-Karman Institute- Brussels in 1983, a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 1987 and a High Doctorate in 2004, both at the University of Porto. Since 1980 he has worked at the University of Porto. He is the scientific coordinator of the Center for Transport Phenomena Studies (CEFT), a unit financed by the FCT, since its foundation in 1997. He was one of the proposing members of the Associated Laboratory Alice. His research work covers various topics in transport phenomena, always combining experimental work with numerical/simulation work. The work covers a wide range of sizes, from micro to macro, and encompasses Newtonian and complex fluids. He was a member of the Scientific Council of FEUP, of the Board of Regents of FEUP, and since 2017 has been a member of the General Council of the University of Porto
