Christopher Pham holds a PhD from the University of the Azores since 2015. He has worked extensively on human impacts on deep-sea ecosystems and now, his work focus on plastic debris and the risks for the Azores marine ecosystem. He is leading the Azores Marine Litter Laboratory and is author and co-author of 57 articles in ISI journals. He is currently supervising 2 PhD students and has supervised 6 masters students. He is the principal investigator of R&D projects focused on this topic and is participating in other international porgrammes on marine litter and one anthropogenic impacts. He has been recently nominated as the chair of the ICES Working Group on Marine Litter (WGML) and acting as member of various international expert groups on marine pollution and deep-sea ecology (GESAMP, OSPAR, DOSI). He is acting as reviewer for different peer-reviewed journals and is associate editor for Frontiers in Marine Science since 2018.
