Filipe Rafael dos Santos Ceia. Completed a Ph.D. in Biosciences (Marine Ecology) in 2013 at the University of Coimbra, an MSc in Environment Conservation and Management in 2008 at the University of Algarve, and a BSc in Marine and Fisheries Biology (Ecology) in 2002 at the University of Algarve. Recently concluded a position as a Ph.D. Researcher at the University of Coimbra (MARE – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre) in the field of Biological Sciences and Biodiversity Conservation, advancing as an independent mid-career researcher. Since 2010, authored a total of 81 scientific publications (Total citations: 1,822; h-index: 26, source: Scopus), including two lead-author book chapters, 13 first-author papers, and eight senior authorships. The scientific contributions, largely published in high-impact Q1 journals (90%, SJR), including Science, Nature Communications, Conservation Letters, or Global Change Biology. Supervised one Ph.D. thesis, seven MSc dissertations, and two BSc final projects, and is currently supervising two MSc theses. Participated in 11 research projects, serving as Principal Investigator in one project focused on contamination pathways in marine wildlife. Presented research at numerous international conferences, delivering 120 oral and poster presentations and organized several knowledge and technology transfer activities (e.g., workshops, conferences, training sessions, citizen science initiatives, and environmental awareness actions). Contributed to the scientific community as a peer reviewer and editor for several international journals in biological and marine sciences, evaluated project proposals for five organizations, and provided consultancy for a book proposal for Elsevier.
