Associated Professor at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa since 1993. Habilitation (¿Agregação¿) in Chemical Engineering, FCT-UNL, in 2017. PhD in Chemical Engineering, FCT-UNL, in 1993. Chemical Engineering undergraduate degree (5-year duration), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), in 1866 (Final classification: 16 (0-20). His main area of research is in the development of integrated and sustainable processes involving alternative green solvents such as super/subcritical fluids with a special focus on the valorisation of agro-food residues. To date, the research activities resulted in a total of 65 papers published in top international peer-reviewed journals in multidisciplinary fields, resulting in an h-index of 27. He has been involved in several European and Portuguese R&D projects and responsible for national projects with the private sector.
