Alexandre M. Pereira Figueiredo holds a degree in Mass Communication, postgraduate
qualifications in Communication Sciences and in Information and Communication Technologies,
a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences, and a PhD in Communication Sciences.
He is also a specialist in Audiovisual and Media Production and is currently pursuing
a degree in Law.
He is currently a professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda and a researcher
at IC.NOVA, Techn&Art, and CIDIUM. He serves as editor of the electronic academic
journal artciencia.com, is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal
of European Studies, and sits on the Advisory Board of the Open Access Asia project.
He has authored three books and published approximately 40 articles in specialized
academic journals. He has organized one academic event and participated in eight others.
His research and teaching activities are focused on the field of Communication Sciences.
Previously, he held teaching positions at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, the
University of Beira Interior, the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, the Polytechnic
Institute of Leiria, and the Higher Institute of Languages and Administration of Santarém.
He was also an FCT doctoral fellow and has worked as a professor, communication and
ICT trainer, and marketing and communication manager, among other roles.
