Anabela Fernandes graduated in Biochemistry by the University of Porto in 2003 and completed a PhD degree in Health Sciences by the University of Minho in 2010. The work developed by Anabela Fernandes during his PhD was performed in the Neurosciences domain at ICVS focusing on the study of neurodegerenative diseases. Since 2016, she's a researcher in the Psychological Neuroscience Laboratory (PNL) at the Research Center on Psychology (CIPsi). Her major goal is to combine experimental physical evaluation, neuroimaging methods and molecular markers assessment to comprehensively study the triangular relationship between these three domains through aging. She is also interested in the study of the pathologic mechanism of neurodegenerative disorders as well as rehabilitation strategies for age-related cognitive and motor decline.
