Ezequiel José Estremina Carneiro Brandão Ferreira completed his BSc Hons (Geology and Natural Resources) and MSc (Economic Geology) degrees at the University of Lisbon (Portugal) in 2009 and 2011, respectively. In 2017, he earned his PhD in Geochemistry and Geotectonics from the University of São Paulo (Brazil). From 2017 to 2022, he was responsible for the geochronology program (U-Pb, Rb-Sr, and Sm-Nd) of 21 geological maps (1:250k and 1:100k), employed by UTE (IGME-LNEG-IMPULSO) in the PLANAGEO project, designed for the geological mapping of SW-Angola. His research interests cover various topics, mostly related to the application of radiogenic isotope geochemistry and multi-elemental geochemical data to: i) the geological evolution of the Congo Craton, with a particular focus on the Angolan Shield; ii) mineral exploration; and iii) hydrocarbon generation and migration, including oil to source-rock fingerprinting and dating.
