João Carlos Saraiva Leocádio has a degree in Biotechnology by Coimbra College of Agriculture (ESAC-IPC) and completed his
master in Biodiversity and Plant Biotechnology by University of Coimbra in 2018.
He is currently a PhD student at the CERES - Chemical Engineering and Renewable Resources for Sustainability (formerly the
Chemical Process Engineering and Forest Products Research Centre), Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Coimbra.
João Leocádio works in the field of Agrarian Sciences, Natural sciences and Engineering and Technology. His main interests
include strategies for the valorization of biological resources, and his research activities have focused on the management
of invasive species.
As a member of the Green and Sustainable Processes Laboratory, he participated as a research fellow in two projects funded
by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, and integrated a project at the University of Coimbra focused on the development
of sustainable edible polymeric films.
