Armando Almeida. Ph.D. in 2000 by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto (Human Biology - pain mechanisms), and graduation (licenciature) in Biology (1988) by the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. He is an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, University of Minho. He has 103 international publications, including 96 papers and 7 book chapters, an H-index of 28, and a total of 2507 citations. He received 14 prizes. His research interests are in Health Sciences, mainly in Basic Medicine (mechanisms of acute and chronic pain). He was Principal Investigator in several public (competitive) and private projects, with over 600.000 euros budget. He was and is supervisor/co-supervisor of 4 Post-doc, 5 Masters, and 9 Ph.D. students. He interacted with more than 220 collaborators as co-authors of scientific publications.
