Daniel Carvalho is a highly motivated Master's student specializing in molecular and cellular biology. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra and is currently pursuing a Master's in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Actively seeking opportunities to expand his knowledge, Daniel conducted his Bachelor's thesis and an extracurricular internship at the National Institute of Agriculture and Veterinary Research, Porto, Portugal. There, he successfully implemented molecular biology techniques in food microbiology lab. During his first year of his Master's program, Daniel completed two laboratory rotations at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), Coimbra. These expertise provided valuable insights into miRNA analysis of pancreas and liver samples, exosome isolation, and characterization in urine. Additionally, he conducted bioinformatic analysis of sequencing data related to the role of intestinal microbiota in pre-diabetes. Currently dedicated to his Master's thesis at Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing (MIA), Coimbra, Daniel's research focuses on investigating the role of miRNAs in wound healing and regenerative medicine. By contributing to the understanding of these molecules, he aims to unlock their potential therapeutic applications in the field. His future aspirations center around a career as a scientific researcher, with the goal of obtaining a Ph.D. Daniel's passion for scientific exploration, combined with his determination to make a meaningful impact in molecular and cellular biology, drives him to continuously seek new opportunities for growth and learning.
