Vania Gonçalves holds a BSc in Psychology (2001, Coimbra University, Portugal) and a PhD in Clinical Psychology (2007. University of Manchester, UK). She has been developing her career and interests in the area of Clinical and Health Psychology. Specifically, her research has been focusing on womens' health, psycho-oncology in general, and breast and gynaecological cancers in particular. Issues regarding psychological adjustment in oncology, Quality of Life, oncofertility, oncogenetics and psychological adaptation to other chronic illnesses, such as endometriosis are her main focus of attention. Vânia Gonçalves has a strong interest in the practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and as well its applications in research in Oncology. After being awarded the FCT Investigator grant, she worked as a Principal Investigator at CEISUC (Centre for Health Studies and Research of the University of Coimbra) (2017-2022).
