Vania Gonçalves

Vania Gonçalves holds a BSc in Psychology (2001, Coimbra University, Portugal) and a PhD in Clinical Psychology (2007. University of Manchester, UK). She has been developing her career and interests in the area of Clinical and Health Psychology. Specifically, her research has been focusing on Psycho-Oncology in general, and Breast and Gynaecological Cancers in particular. Issues regarding psychological adjustment in oncology, Quality of Life, oncofertility and oncogenetics have been her main focus of attention. In addition, health communication and decision-making are also relevant to her. From a therapeutic point of view, Vânia Gonçalves has a strong interest in the practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Currently, She is an Assistant Professor at the European University of Lisbon. She is also an Associated Editor for Reproductive Health (a BMC Journal).
