I studied Horticulture Science and Mediterranean Forestry during my Bachelor's and two Master's studies. Throughout my academic years, and after that, I obtained various practical and theoretical experiences as a national and international student, volunteer, teacher, researcher, and consulter. Also, I achieved awards and/or honors that were an encouragement to develop my knowledge. My projects during my academic years were " the use of organic house waste to increase urban agriculture - case study native species Capparis spinosa" "the effect of environmental conditions on the quantity and quality of the essential oil of Citrus aurantifolia" and "Effect of Foliar Application Methanol on the Quality and Quantity of Artemisia dracunculus L." made me highly interested in Native plants, Urban greening, and Plant ecology. Since the beginning of 2019, I have collaborated with a Green Roof Lab research group at the Institute Superior de Agronomia, University of Lisbon, to use my experiences related to past subjects and expand my knowledge based on interdisciplinary topics and conceptual framework nature-based solutions. This collaboration focused on the "Expansion of green roofs based on Portuguese native plants" and "Use of ecological indicators in the selection of native species in green roofs." Our goals are to facilitate expanding urban green spaces, especially green roofs in Lisbon with the Mediterranean climate based on horizon 2020 EU and SDGs goals to increase ecosystem services by native species and reduce negative aspects of urbanization. The result of research on the use of Portuguese native plant species in urban greenery was published in 2022. In addition to my research, I took online courses, "Urban Nature: Connecting Cities, Nature, and Innovation" by Lund University and "Nature in The City and Climate Change" by Aix Marseille University, to expand my knowledge regarding Urban planning and Greenspace. Also, I tried to improve my knowledge regarding new technologies like User Experience Design and then focus on sustainable web design and sustainability in technologies. I volunteered as a teaching assistant at the UxLand Bootcamp in Seattle and consulted in this field.
