Gonçalo Moura Lestre has a bachelor's and master's degree in Economics from the University of Aveiro, Department of Economics Management Industrial Engineering and Tourism. His master's thesis entitled “The impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Financial Performance and the possible bilateral causal relationship” sought to understand whether Corporate Social Responsibility measures have an impact on Financial Performance, and whether there is a bilateral causal relationship, estimating several models using the Panel Data methodology, and others for the reciprocal relationship studied, with annual data over a 10-year period, obtaining a grade of 18. He is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Economic and Business Sciences, also at the University of Aveiro, having applied for a research project that aims to give continuity and depth to the work presented in his master's dissertation. He has completed the entire curricular part of his dissertation, with an average mark of 17. He was a scholarship holder in the European BlueCC project from October 2021 to November 2023. The BlueCC project aimed to study the commercial viability of the products developed. Some of the tasks carried out during the project involved developing a pre-commercialization plan, defining a marketing strategy, as well as collecting and processing responses to a questionnaire from stakeholders relevant to the project. From this project he co-authored a publication entitled “Current and Expected Trends for the Marine Chitin/Chitosan and Collagen Value Chains”, in the journal Marine Drugs. He is currently a scholarship holder on the NEXUS project, which aims to promote an Agenda around logistics and transport networks, focused on innovating, developing, demonstrating and initiating the valorization and exploitation of products and services with strong export potential, and which address the main challenges and gaps identified in logistics in Portugal. More specifically, and together with the rest of the research team, he is studying and measuring the societal impacts of the decarbonization of the port of Sines. In addition to his academic work, he has extensive experience and activity in the associative and student movement, having been part of a Junior Company, where he assumed the responsibilities of department director and Chairman of the General Meetings. He works in the area of Social Sciences, more specifically in the area of Economics, where his research interests lie in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility. He is also interested in Finance and Econometrics. With a special interest in teaching, he has been invited to lecture on the SDGs since 2022 in the curricular unit “Integrated sustainable development following the UN Goals for 2030”. He also took part in the “Introdução à Prática Pedagógica (para estudantes de doutoramento e pós-doutoramento)” training course. He has solid knowledge of STATA, SPSS and Excel, and beginner to intermediate knowledge of R software and Python.
