Belmiro Pereira Duarte earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Coimbra in 1995. He also holds a Master's degree in Management of Information in Organizations from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Coimbra (1998), a Graduation in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Coimbra (1991), and a Baccalaureate in Chemical Engineering from the Higher Institute of Engineering of Coimbra at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (1988). He has authored 56 articles in peer-reviewed journals and contributed 21 chapters to refereed books. Belmiro has been recognized with 1 award and/or honor for his contributions. He has been actively involved as a Research Fellow in science projects. His expertise lies in the fields of Chemical Engineering, particularly in Chemical Process Engineering, as well as in Exact Sciences with a focus on Mathematics, Statistics, and Probability. In his Ciência Vitae curriculum, the most prevalent terms associated with his scientific, technological, and artistic-cultural output include process optimization, process simulation, optimal design of experiments, and quality control.
