Patrício Ramalhosa completed a Bachelor's degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology from Queen Mary University of London in 2005. In 2007 and 2008, he participated in the international training program GAME (Global Approach by Modular Experiments) at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel, Germany. In 2013, he started an internship at IMAR-Madeira, focusing on research related to marine fouling communities and the study of biological invasions by non-indigenous species (NIS) in Madeira, Portugal. From 2014 until August 2020, Patrício continued his research on biological invasions at the Oceanic Observatory of Madeira (OOM). Since September 2020, he has been a research technician at MARE ¿ Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, part of the Regional Agency for the Development of Research Technology and Innovation (ARDITI). His interests and formal training encompass marine fouling communities, biological invasions, marine ecology, dry dock inspections (DDI), and remotely operated vehicles (ROV). Patrício is a dependable research technician with experience in various research methods and techniques. Currently, he is responsible for the Laboratory & MOSS (Marine Organisms Stress Simulator) system at Quinta do Lorde, Caniçal. Patrício has published over 38 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
