Ana Cláudia Pereira Bártolo is a Psychologist with a Master’s in Clinical and Health Psychology and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Aveiro. She is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Portucalense and an integrated researcher at RISE–Health@Upt. She also serves as President of the Scientific Council of the Portuguese Academy of Psycho-Oncology. Her career has been dedicated to understanding the psychosocial determinants of health and developing interventions that promote well-being and quality of life in the context of chronic illness. She has led and collaborated on several competitively funded research projects in community health, psycho-oncology, and cognitive rehabilitation. She is currently the Principal Investigator of Memory2CARE, a project that leverages augmented reality to support the rehabilitation of prospective memory in breast cancer survivors. Her research encompasses a wide range of health conditions—including oncology, infertility, COPD, kidney disease, and dementia—and involves applied methodologies for data collection, processing, and analysis. She has coordinated technical publications in psychology and has authored more than 50 articles in internationally indexed journals, over 30 published abstracts, and more than 80 presentations at scientific events. She serves on editorial boards of national and international journals, including the International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology. She has received multiple scientific distinctions, reflecting the impact of her contributions to health psychology and research in chronic illness.
