Daniel Lopes Oliveira

Daniel Lopes Oliveira holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Coimbra. During his Master’s dissertation, developed at the "Nanosystems and Targeted Antitumor Strategies" at CNC-UC, he focused on the development of non-viral silica-polymer hybrid nanosystems for combined gene and drug delivery to liver cancer. This project gave him solid experience in cell culture, nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, drug and gene delivery, and in vitro assays. This project gave him hands-on experience with nanotechnology, gene and drug delivery systems, and in vitro assays. During this time, Daniel was the recipient of a scientific initiation fellowship through the “Verão com Ciência” program by FCT. From this effort resulted the co-authorship on a publication in the International Journal of Pharmaceutics. From 2023 to 2025, Daniel was a research fellow at Pereira Lab within the CInTech project, where he cloned over 150 transcription factors and tested different strategies, such as using different small molecules and cell culture mediums, to improve immune cell reprogramming. In April 2025, he joined BRT – Blood Reprogramming Technologies as part of an IEFP internship, where he is focusing on the development of reprogramming-based blood products.
