Catarina Bessa is a PhD candidate at the University of Coimbra, where she enrolled in the Bachelor's and Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. Her work on Behavioral Operations Research focuses on the incorporation of fairness concerns in decision-support tools for supply chain problems. The dissemination of her work has been done in conferences and seminars, being distinguished in the XXI Congress of the Portuguese Association of Operational Research. Under the academic environment she has worked with planning solutions for pharmaceutical and personal luxury goods industries, having experienced the latter also in an industrial environment. Currently, she is an Invited Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology from University of Coimbra.
