Artur Jorge Carneiro Moro completed his degree in Applied Chemistry in 2006 at NOVA University of Lisbon, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2010 at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany, where he participated as a Marie Curie Fellow (Ph.D. Student) in a European project (NASCENT - Nanomaterials for Applications in Sensors, Catalysis and Emerging Technologies). In 2011, he was awarded an Individual Post-doctoral Fellowship from FCT-MCTES. He is currently a Researcher at LAQV - Associate Laboratory for Green Chemistry. He co-authored 54 articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals and 2 book chapters (H-index 19, WoS). He was head of the organization of an international conference - 6PYCheM (http://6pychem.eventos.chemistry.pt/) - and was part of the organizing committee of another - "III International Workshop on Group 11 elements" (https://eventos.fct.unl.pt/g11workshop/). As an experienced member at the "Cultural Heritage And Responsive Materials" group (CHARM) at FCT-NOVA, AJM was the principal supervisor of 3 M.Sc. theses, and co-supervisor of 3 M.Sc. theses. Furthermore, he has supervised 11 final course works of B.Sc. completion, and co-supervised 3. He was the Principal investigator in 1 project funded within LAQV and UCIBIO research centers, and participated as a Researcher in 8 additional projects. He has recognized expertise in the areas of Physical Chemistry (Photochemistry/Photophysics and Supramolecular Chemistry), Organic Chemistry (synthesis of fluorescent sensors) and Inorganic Chemistry (Alkynyl-Gold(I)-Phosphine complexes). He is currently focused on the development of new fluorescent sensors and materials for metal ions, towards Environmental Analysis and Sustainable Processing.
