Liliana C. Tomé is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra in Portugal. She earned her B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Food Chemistry (2007) and her M.Sc. in Materials Derived from Renewable Resources (2008) from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. In December 2014, she completed her Ph.D. degree in Engineering and Technology Sciences – Chemical Engineering at Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier (ITQB NOVA) From 2015 to 2018, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at ITQB NOVA with a fellowship awarded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, Portugal (SFRH/BPD/101793/2014). In 2018 she joined the Innovative Polymer Group at POLYMAT – UPV/EHU (Spain) with a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (Grant number: 745734). From 2021 to 2023, she worked as an Assistant Researcher at LAQV-REQUIMTE, NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA), Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Author of 70 publications (H = 31, 2800+ citations, Scopus), her main research areas center on poly(ionic liquid)s, ionic liquid, and deep eutectic solvent-based materials for separation and bioelectronics applications.
