Ana Almeida has a PhD in Ciência e Engenharia de Materiais (2021) , MSc in Biotecnology (2009) and BSc in Applied Chemistry (2007) by NOVA FCT. Published 14 articles in high impact factor peer-reviewed journals and 1 section of book. Organized 3 scientific events. Recently she was awarded a research grant - Project ref. 2022.01619.PTDC - DynaCellCollect: Dynamically responsive micro/nano helical shaped membranes for water droplet collection to pursuit her line of research as a PI. Currently she is a researcher in the LAQV-Requimte in the Chemistry Department, NOVA School of Science & Technology and colaborador member of CENIMAT|i3N. She has solid experience in the study of molecular and macroscopic properties and behavior of soft materials, mainly cellulose-based Liquid crystalline systems, and participated in the development and design of materials inspired by Nature. Currently has a large number of citations (413 since 2019) which is a good indicator of recognition from the scientific community and significance of the published results. Supervision of Master students and activities as Teaching Assistant of theoretical and lab classes granted not only scientific abilities and knowledge but also soft-skills such as communication, mentoring, project and time management, problem solving & decision-making.
