Hugo Costa is Professor of the Practice at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) and works at Direção-Geral do Território (DGT). He holds a Ph.D. degree in Geographical Information Science (University of Nottingham, UK). His main research area is remote sensing, in particular image classification for land cover mapping, along with ecological modelling. He is the author of >40 peer-reviewed publications, including articles in scientific journals, international conference proceedings, and one book section.
