Instituto para a Construção Sustentável, Portugal
2025/04/01 - 2025/04/30 After a severe windstorm hit Vila do Conde in early 2025, the cantilever roof of the west stand at Estádio dos Arcos suffered uplift and displacement of metal cladding panels, exposing the supporting structure. In March 2025, a site inspection and structural diagnosis were conducted to assess the roof’s condition, identify likely causes and failure mechanisms, and outline rehabilitation options compatible with the existing structural typology, local constraints, and current safety and quality requirements. Instituto para a Construção Sustentável, Portugal
2024/12/01 - 2024/12/31 This project concerns the seismic vulnerability assessment of two reinforced-concrete buildings within the complex associated with the Palácio Burnay. 2024/05/01 - 2024/05/31 This project was commissioned by Aveiro City Council (CMA) to propose short-term preventive measures to ensure the safety of users of the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro (EMA) grounds, given the defects identified in the glassfibre-reinforced concrete (GRC) façade panels. The short-term safety requirement is linked to the Portugal–Finland national team match, a warm-up for UEFA EURO 2024, scheduled for 4 June 2024. Instituto para a Construção Sustentável, Portugal
2024/04/01 - 2024/04/30 Seismic vulnerability assessment of the D. Dinis lower-secondary school in Leiria, commissioned by PPSEC Engenharia within the refurbishment project. The report defines mitigation/strengthening measures to be observed by the Foundations and Structures design team. The study complies with Decree-Law 95/2019 (Art. 8) and Ordinance 302/2019, and evaluates safety under seismic action per Eurocode 8-3. The scope included inspection and in-situ tests to characterise materials and structure. Results guide prioritisation and phasing of rehabilitation works. Instituto para a Construção Sustentável, Portugal
2024/04/01 - 2024/04/30 Seismic vulnerability assessment of the Santos Simões Basic School in Guimarães, commissioned by PPSEC Engenharia within the refurbishment project. The report defines mitigation/strengthening measures to be observed by the Foundations and Structures design team. The study complies with Decree-Law 95/2019 (Art. 8) and Ordinance 302/2019, and evaluates safety under seismic action per Eurocode 8-3.
