Erik Bordeleau is a philosopher, fugitive planner, curator and media theorist based between Berlin and Lisbon, where he is currently researcher in Cinema and Philosophy at NOVA university. He is also affiliated researcher at the Art, Business and Culture Center (ABC) at the Stockholm School of Economics and has recently been invited as visiting professor at PUCRS POrto Alegre (Brazil). He has published several books and articles in different languages at the intersection of political philosophy, contemporary art, world cinema, blockchain cultures, critical finance and media theory, among which: "Foucault anonymat" (Le Quartanier, 2012, Spirale Eva-Legrand 2013 award); "Comment sauver le commun du communisme?" (Le Quartanier, 2014), both translated to Spanish and the latter also recently in German; "(Dis)enchanted Taiwanese Cinema, Shizoanalytic Belief and the Actuality of Animism" (2017); "Proof of Withdrawal: Finance in the Undercommons" (2020); "We Too Have a Code: Notes Around Cryptoeconomics and the Question of Programmability" (2022); "The Derivative Community: On Soulful Asset Formation (2023); Circus and the Arts of Commoning (2024). He has also co-edited a collective book on the Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul, "Nocturnal Fabulations Ecology, Vitality and Opacity in the Cinema of Apichatpong Weerasethakul" (OHP Press, 2017). He contribultes actively to the Weird Economies platform and he is developing The Sphere, a research-creation project exploring new ecologies of funding and building a web3-based regenerative commons for the performing arts.
