Sofia Dias currently works as Research Assistant at Faculty of Human Kinetics of the University of Lisbon (FMH-ULisboa), Portugal. She received the Diploma degree in Physical Education in 2007, the MSc degree in Education in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in 2013, from FMH-ULisboa. She embraced a Ph.D. in Science Education, specialty of Analysis and Organization of Educational Systems, financed by a project grant awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT- Portugal). In 2019, she finalized a FCT Postdoctoral Grant for exploring blended, collaborative and affective learning processes in Higher Education environments, a research collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). She has published 5 books, 24 book chapters, 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and 27 papers in peer-reviewed international conferences with scientific refereeing. She is reviewer of >35 international journals (Top reviewer in Computer Science field, Publons) and Associate Editor in Expert Systems With Applications (ESWA) and Intelligent Systems With Applictions (ISWA) journals, and Guest Associate Editor in Frontiers in Psychology and Frontiers in Nutrition. Recently, she was invited to act as Reviewer of European Research Council (ERC) scientific proposals (ERC Consolidator Grants). She received the Silver Award, as Principal Investigator in A/B/C-TEACH research project, in the Teaching Delivery category in the Reimagine Education competition (2018, PA United States). She received the 1st Prize Award of the most innovative project in the AgeingFit 2020 competition (i-PROGNOSIS project), including the iPrognosis Games (2020, France). And recently, she received the 3rd Place Award in Woman to Impact Resilience Challenge (2022, KSA). Her current participation and interest in national/European research projects focus on areas such as intelligent modelling of learning processes, active/healthy living with ICT, advanced behavioural modelling, design/development of serious games, digital phenotyping, and early prognosis of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson¿s disease) (e.g., FCT A/B/C-TEACH; H2020 PROTEIN; H2020 i-PROGNOSIS; Horizon Europe iPROLEPSIS; Horizon Europe AI-PROGNOSIS).
