¿¿Luís Correia, a native of Madeira island, born in 1989, has significantly contributed to the research on the durability and long-term performance of composite structures. His work has yielded impressive results, including 17 journal articles, over 20 presentations at international and national conferences, the editorship of 3 books and authorship of 4 book chapters, along with more than 21 scientific reports. ¿¿Starting his research journey in September 2013, Correia engaged in the FCT-funded FRPreDur project (FCT PTDC/ECM-EST/2424/2012), focusing on an experimental program that analyzed full-scale slabs and material specimens for their properties, numerical simulations, and design guidelines. In May 2014, he was awarded an individual PhD scholarship by FCT (SFRH/BD/98309/2013), marking the commencement of his doctoral program while continuing his involvement with the FRPreDur project. Over four years, Correia not only excelled in his coursework (averaging 17 out of 20) but also contributed significantly to research and scientific output. ¿¿During his doctoral studies, Correia also examined the impact of high temperatures on the bond behavior of externally-bonded FRP laminates with mechanical end anchorages in the FRPLongDur project (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-016900). In May 2018, his research scope expanded to include the EASYFLOOR project (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-003480), focusing on the application of pultruded sandwich panels for the restoration of degraded wooden floors in historical buildings. ¿¿In April 2023, Correia took on the role of deputy coordinator for the FRP++ master program, involving himself in teaching, organizing events like the integration week and annual FRP++ workshop, and supervising four PhD and three MSc students. An active member of the ISISE Institute, his current projects include the Stiker project (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-039755) and contributing to the development of the prEN19101: Design of fiber-polymer composite structures for the new Eurocode as a member of the WG4 project team of the CEN/TC 250 committee. Throughout his career, Correia has fostered meaningful collaborations with esteemed institutions and companies internationally, including Empa (Switzerland), the University of Girona (Spain), and the University of Aalborg (Denmark). These partnerships have been instrumental in establishing a solid network for future research opportunities.
