Joana Lopes is a psychologist and post-doctoral researcher at inED - Center for Research and Innovation in Education at Escola Superior de Educação do Porto. In this context, she conducts different research activities, seeking to understand in depth the processes involved in the socio-emotional development of preschool children, combining her background in developmental psychology and neurosciences and adapting it to the educational context. She completed her PhD in Psychology in 2021 from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. Her dissertation, entitled ¿Emotional and developmental pathways of infant-mother attachment¿, resulted from a longitudinal research project that involved the follow-up of 50 mother-infant dyads and their families over two years, starting in the first hours of life. of the newborn. Using a multidisciplinary approach, it studied the predictors of mother-infant attachment and its correlates throughout the first year of life, adopting methodologies and instruments from different theoretical fields, such as Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Neurosciences and Affective Neurosciences, using behavioral, physiological, observational, attention and visual processing/eye-tracking, developmental, and neuronal activity/fmri measures. Throughout her academic career, she received funding for the development of her scientific projects/research activities, obtained scientific merit awards and collaborated with different research centres, such as the Neuropsychophysiology Laboratory of the University of Porto, the Speech Laboratory of the do Porto, the Center for Research and Educational Intervention of the FPCEUP and the Interdisciplinary Center for Educational Studies of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon. In the different research centers with which he collaborated, he participated in different projects, among which the international project ¿Touchpoints: study on the contributions of child self-regulation, mother behavior and NBAS intervention for attachment quality in first year of life stands out. a collaboration with Harvard University in partnership with the Brazelton/Gomes-Pedro Foundation. She has teaching experience in higher education, such as the curricular unit ¿Neuropsychological Assessment of Children and Adolescents¿ within the scope of the 2nd Cycle of Studies in Forensic Sciences at the University of Porto, she was invited to participate in classes and congresses, such as the International Congress of Children and Adolescents, is a trainer certified by the IEFP in the areas of Developmental Psychology and Neuropsychology, for example, she is a trainer of the courses "Parenting and secure attachment", "Pregnancy and parenting", "The baby's first year: challenges and strategies¿, and ¿Neurosciences of the baby and the family: Neurobiological foundations of development, is the author of several articles published in peer-reviewed journals of high scientific quality (Q1), with particular relevance in the area of Psychology and Developmental Psychology, such as Infancy, Plos One, BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, and the Journal of Health Psychology, and argued for a master's degree and of which qualification to obtain a doctoral degree. Over the years she has also accumulated experience as a clinical psychologist, having developed clinical skills in psychological assessment and intervention with babies, children and their families in clinics and psychology centers in the Porto area. Her professional career also includes the development of activities in the field of community psychology, namely with the beneficiary population of the RSI, such as adult literacy and psycho-educational and psychosocial support for children and young people at risk. In the future, she wants to continue to develop teaching and research activities in the scientific areas of greatest interest, such as neurosciences, developmental psychology, early childhood development.
