Rita Catarina Álvaro Manguinhas has a BSc degree in Biochemistry, recently completed an MSc degree in Biopharmaceutical Sciences and also attended a one-year specialization course in Forensic Medical Sciences. She completed 3 internships in her career, namely at Gulbenkian Institute of Science, National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (INMLCF, I.P.) - Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology Service and University of Notthingham, United Kingdom. She is co-author of two full-papers, both in Q1 journals, one in Scientific reports (2016, IF 4.256) and another in Food and Chemical Toxicology (2020, IF 4.679). More recently, she published her first article and 1st author at Antioxidants (2020, IF 5.014), titled "Impact of the APE1 Redox Function Inhibitor E3330 in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Cells Exposed to Cisplatin: Increased Cytotoxicity and Impairment of Cell Migration and Invasion". Moreover, she was also author/co-author of two oral and two poster presentations in national and international congresses/meetings. Furthermore, Rita Manguinhas recently presented an oral communication at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Portuguese Pharmacology Society (07/02/2020). She is currently a Research Trainee at Instituto de Investigação do Medicamento from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon.
