RESEARCHER in PERFORMING ARTS in the field of Psychology of Dance and Music; Professional DANCER and PROFESSOR specialized in Traditional Tango and 15 years of TEACHING ASSISTANT as a MUSICIAN specialized in dance technique. He completed the DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY by University of Évora in 2013 with thesis on "Revision of communication problems in the context of technical dance classes from the perspective of the dance musician" (Winning a FCT.IP mixed scholarship). Graduated in MUSICAL EDUCATION and Classical Guitar by Higher Conservatory of Music of Buenos Aires in 1990. He attended the Music career at the FA-UNLP (1985-90). Holds a DEGREE in Music Education by University of Évora in 2007. In my professional career, stand out 7 years (2015 -2022) as a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (Winner of a mixed FCT.IP Scholarship). The postdoc addressed "Aspects of communication in multimodal expressive performance: Crossing propositional and non-propositional contents¿ in two R&D host entities, the Institute of Ethnomusicology - Centre of Music and Dance Studies - University of Aveiro (INET-md-UA), Portugal; and the Laboratory for the Study of Musical Experience (LEEM)- National University of La Plata, Argentina. For thirteen years I have been doing Intensive Personal Training in Gyrotonic System and in the fundamentals of the Classical Ballet Technique with BARBORA HRUSKOVA, Principal Dancer and current Head Rehearser of the National Ballet Company (CNB) of Portugal. Alejandro domain of science specialization is (i) cross and multimodal communication issues between dancers and dancers-dance musicians, (ii) practice based research on the qualitative kinaesthetic-kinetic dynamics aspects of dance movements and (iii) non-propositional body knowledge. In particular, his works are based on an epistemic plurality that addresses embodied dynamic cognition, 'second person reciprocal interactions, phenomenological methodologies and multimodal microanalysis based in Zero Velocity Detection. He was a RESEARCHER in two competitive projects of the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion, Argentina. Since 2014 he have taught in postgraduate seminars (PhD and Masters courses) at the Faculty of Human Kinetics of the University of Lisbon (FMH-UL); LEEM-FA-UNLP, Argentina; Dance Faculty of the University Autonomous of Chiapas, Mexico. I was guest lecturer of the 14th Dance Congress of Traditional Argentine Dances School (La Plata 2021) and keynote at 1st Interdisciplinary Symposium on Sciences Applied to Dance, Faculty of Medicine, University of Buenos Aires (2015). In 2020 he created the "Laboratory for the study of the analysis of the visual and sound gesture of the Traditional Tango dance of Argentina" with the collaboration of the dance department of FMH-UL and Sport Specialist Rui Pires (High Performance Centre of JAMOR). In 2022 begins "A danced embrace for Fado", a collaborative artistic research based practice in which Tango dance movements are reinterpreted in the gestural corporeality of Fado music-musicians who perform in the Fado houses of Lisbon. He is currently developing the project "How to think about art from the body", Phenomenological Research on the Construction and Transmission of Non-Propositional Knowledge.

  2. Interdisciplinary Laboratory development on the reflexive and informed practice of Argentine Tango movements. Based on the phenomenology of dance and the Background Theory, the T-Lab develops strategies to study the non-propositional knowledge that inhabits the corporal and musical gestures of Tango.
