Patrícia Isabel da Silveira Máximo completed her PhD in Organic Chemistry in 23/01/2001 by Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, and her Degree (5 years) in Applied Chemistry - Organic Chemistry in 30/09/1994 by NOVA School of Science and Tecnology. Her PhD (with experimental work done at NOVA FCT, IQOG CSIC - Madrid, and Uni. Heidelberg) focused on the Chemotaxonomy of Portuguese Ulex L. After that, she was a University Professor for 4 years (2000-2004). In 2011 she resumed her activity by being a Fellow and PostDoc in several projects of Natural Products Chemistry and Organic Synthesis at the Applied Organic Chemistry group at NOVA FCT, including the study of Thymus mastichina, the synthesis of p-hydroxycinnamic alcohol and resveratrol dimers, the isolation, identification and synthesis of Marine Natural Products, and the debittering of Lupinus albus. She was a contracted Researcher of Sea4Us in 2017-2018. From 2019 to 2021, she was a contracted Researcher in the Photochemistry and Supramolecular Chemistry group at NOVA FCT, where she performed the synthesis of photoresponsive molecules. From 2023 to 2024 she was an Assistant Researcher at Applied Organic Chemistry at NOVA FCT , on PBA-Vertical Algas project. She has published 17 articles in journals (4 reviews), one book chapter, and two patents . Her work has been the subject of 18 poster communications and 9 oral presentations. She has been co-supervisor to 3 master students and 4 degree students (Natural Products and Organic synthesis). She was a guest co-editor for a special issue of the journal Marine Drugs, MDPI, and she was a reviewer and member of the reviewer board of the same journal (2018-2023). Her current interests are the chemistry of Invasive species and the isolation of bioactive Natural Products.
