Adão Silva received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Aveiro in 2002 and 2007, respectively. He is currently an associate professor in the DETI at the University of Aveiro and a senior researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT). He has also been involved in several management tasks at the University of Aveiro and IT. He has participated in several national and European projects, namely EU FP6 ICT ASILUM, MATRICE, 4MORE, EU FP7 FUTON and CODIV, where he led several workpackages. He is currently involved in the EU H2020 TEUMUP5G project related with 5G and B5G technologies. He has also led several research projects in broadband wireless communications at the national level, namely FCT CADWIN, IT/FCT CELCOP, FCT COPWIN, IT/FCT HETCOP, FCT PURE-5GNET and recently FCT MASSIVE5G. He has been reviewer of some international calls for research projects (e.g. NWO Talent Programme-Vidi 2021, funded by Dutch Research Council Science). He was part of the Organizing Committee of IEEE VTC-2018-Spring and IEEE/IET CSNDSP 2020 and 2022. He has been served as a member of the TPC at several international conferences (e.g. IEEE VTC Spring/Fall, IEEE PIMRC, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE ICC, IEEE WCNC, EUSIPCO, etc.). He was an associate editor of Radioengineering journal, and he is currently an associate editor of IEEE Access, IET Signal Processing and Electronics journals as well as guest editor for special issues of multiple journals. He regularly reviews articles in the main international journals in his field. He is one of the researchers, from the University of Aveiro and IT, with the highest number of reviews, according to Publons data. He supervised 9 PhD students, 5 Post-Docs and over 40 Master students. He was distinguished, as supervisor, by the Iberian Association for Information Systems and Technologies (AISTI) with the award "Best Iberian Doctoral Thesis in Information Systems and Technologies" of 2020. His interests include multicarrier-based systems, cooperative networks, precoding, multiuser detection, massive MIMO, millimeter wave communications and cell-free. Within these research topics he has published over 150 technical papers in high ranked international journals (IEEE Trans. on Information Theory, IEEE Trans. on Commun., IEEE Trans. on Wireless Commun., IEEE Commun. Surveys and Tutorials, IEEE Access, IEEE Trans. on Vehicular Technology, etc.) and in the major international conferences.
