Jorge D. M. Mateus completed his Master's in Political Philosophy (2015) at the Institute of Letters and Human Sciences at the University of Minho and his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and International Relations (2013) at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Beira Interior. He has developed research, published articles, and presented conference papers at academic-scientific events in the areas of Ethics and Political Philosophy. He was distinguished with the Merit Recognition Award for best finalist student in the Political Science and International Relations course (2013) by UBI and Jornal do Fundão. Between 2016 and 2018, he was a researcher at the Manchester Centre for Political Theory at the University of Manchester where he developed research in the areas of distributive theories of justice and relational equality. Since 2019, he is a PhD researcher at the Centre for Ethics, Politics, and Society at the University of Minho where he develops research on the areas of the Ethics of Human Enhancement and the Philosophy of Transhumanism.
