Tânia Esteves is an Assistant Researcher at INESC TEC and a 25% Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Minho. She earned her PhD in 2024 through the Doctoral Program in Informatics (PDINF) at the University of Minho, with a dissertation titled "Flexible Tracing and Analysis of Applications' I/O Behavior." Her research interests lie in distributed and storage systems, particularly in performance diagnosis, correctness, and the security of data-centric applications. Tânia has published her work in peer-reviewed journals and leading international conferences and workshops, including PVLDB, IEEE Access, ACM Middleware, and IEEE SRDS. She has contributed to several national and international research projects, including a Joint Study Agreement with IBM Research Haifa, CENTRA, Compete2020 BigHPC, BCD.S+M, and BringTrust. In addition to her research, Tânia has served the scientific community as a reviewer. She is on the program committee for EuroSys 2025 (Shadow PC) and has participated in the artifact evaluation committees for DAIS (2023 and 2025) and EuroSys (2025). She has also been an invited reviewer for the TPDS (2024) and SCICO (2024) journals. Furthermore, Tânia is actively involved in student supervision, currently co-supervising two PhD and three MSc students, with another three MSc supervisions completed successfully. She has also monitored several BSc and MSc students on research and academic projects on I/O observability, storage optimizations, and ransomware analysis, totaling 22 students in ongoing and past research supervision.
