José Pedro Ribeiro Peixoto, born in 2000, is a PhD student in Informatics at the University of Minho and a Research Assistant at INESC TEC. He completed both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Engineering at the same institution, focusing on Formal Methods and Distributed Systems. His Master's dissertation addressed adaptability and optimization in cache systems, contributing to research on memory management in cloud environments. Since 2021, he has participated in various research projects at INESC TEC, including the development of Holpaca, a cache design project built on CacheLib and inspired by Software-Defined Storage principles, carried out in collaboration with Florida International University (FIU). His current doctoral research explores software-managed resource disaggregation in large-scale HPC infrastructures, with a focus on improving resource allocation using technologies like Compute Express Link (CXL) and RDMA. The work is being developed with input from several HPC centers, including MACC, TACC, AIST, and NARLabs. His academic path includes contributions to projects such as PAStor, ATE, and the newly launched DisaggregatedHPC initiative. In addition to research, he teaches courses on Operating Systems and Informatics Laboratories at the University of Minho and participates in academic service, including roles in conference committees and student workshops.
