Noel Rodriguez received the Electronics Engineer degree from the University of Granada in 2004 obtaining the first national award for university education. In 2008, he received a double Ph.D. from the University of Granada and the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (France) with the extraordinary award. During the doctorate studies, he was awarded a grant inside the EDITH Marie Curie program to spend one year at the IMEP-Minatec facilities (France) where he worked on electrical characterization techniques for materials and devices. Back in Granada, he applied that knowledge to establish pioneering experimental research lines and facilities non-existent until then at the University of Granada. He is currently a Full Professor with the University of Granada and founder of the Pervasive Electronics Advanced Research Laboratory (15 interdisciplinary members and 3 external collaborators) where he served as Head since its foundation in 2017 until 2020. His research interest includes low-power converters, high fractional order circuits, high-performance memory applications, laser nanostructured materials (like laser-induced nanographene), the development of new technologies for ubiquitous electronics and the development of new transduction platforms for sensors. His activity has been related to prestigious international institutions (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Technical University of Munich, IMEP-Minatec, Osaka City University) resulting in joint publications. Furthermore, He has proven experience on IP management (co-holder of 10 patents related to the A-RAM memory technology) and relation with companies (such as Infineon Technologies A.G., Eesy Innovation, or SOITec) with whom he has established contracts. He has carried out several fruitful stays in different countries at prestigious centers (IMEP-Minatec in France, Kyungpook National University in Korea) or emerging but high future projection institutions like the Autonomous University of Sinaloa in Mexico. In this latter case, he is building up a network of postgraduate exchanges and joint research. He has contributed to 34 research projects (8 Europeans, 13 Nationals, 6 Regionals, and 7 Locals). He is the author or co-author of 8 book chapters (4 as the first author) and more than 150 scientific contributions, including the participation in renowned international conferences such as ESSDERC, International Memory Workshop, and S3S Conference. He has been invited as a speaker by some of the major players in the semiconductor industry (Samsung, Hynix) for his research in new memory paradigms. Since 2017, he is a member of the technical committee of the international conference MicDAT; and previously of the technical committee of the RusNANOPRIZE contest (2014, one million dollars award) and the ESSDERC (2010 – 2014, electrical characterization section). He was a member of the organizing committee of the conferences ESSDERC 2011 (Sevilla) and EuroSOI 2011 (Granada). He is currently a member of the research network Leonardo (BBVA foundation). He has launched several special issues in indexed journals. At the local level, he is a permanent member of the board of the PEARL Laboratory and he is a member of the Institute of Bio-Health Research of Granada (since 2013) and of the Scientific Committee of the CITIC-UGR (since 2012).
